INCA JUNGLE 4 DAYS

The inka jungle is the best option if you want to enjoy a different circuit and far from a simple walk, full of adventures towards Machu Picchu, doing the activities of Cycling, Rafting, Hiking and Zipline (Zipline) on the way, during this walk of 4 days and 3 nights.

If you did not manage to book the Inca Trail (Inka Trail) tour, this is the perfect alternative since it can be booked throughout the year and within the trekking the tour is made to a part of the Inka amino.

Itinerary

DAY 1: Cusco – Abra Malaga – Huamanmarca – Santa Maria (Biking, Rafting)

We will start with the pick up from the hotel between 6:00 am and 6:30 am, we will go on a trip of 1 hour and a half to Ollantaytambo. Here you can have a breakfast if you did not do it in Cusco or buy snacks. To then continue for 1 hour and a half more towards the High Pass of Malaga (4,350 meters) where your adventure begins.
After the guide provides you with the necessary safety information and the necessary equipment for the activity, we will start with an exciting bike trip of approximately 2 and a half hours, surrounded by the exuberant and humid jungle. Our transport will be with the group in case someone wants to get on the car, you will also be able to appreciate the archaeological site of Huamanmarka along the way, before arriving at the town of Santa María where we will have lunch and spend the first night in a lodging.
In Santa Maria in the afternoon we have the option of rafting on the Vilcanota River for an approximate time of 2 and a half hours, this river offers rapids of category III and V +. For this activity we will give you the necessary equipment.
This activity is available between the months of April and December, and you must be able to swim to participate in it.

DAY 2 : Santa Maria – Inca Trail – Quellomayo – Cocalmayo – Santa Teresa (Hike, Hot Springs)

We start the day with a healthy breakfast and then start with our walk to Santa Teresa. The first two hours of our tour we will ascend through the terrain. Along the way we will have several stops to learn a little more about the rich flora and fauna of the area where we will find ourselves, on our way we will see small coffee plantations, fruit trees, etc.
In this area it is possible to see many types of plants, orchids and birds. We will observe the beauties of the high forest, we will cross a section of the Inca Trail that used to connect the Sacred City of the citadel of Machu Picchu with the last Inca refuge, Vilcabamba. Afterwards, the group will descend to reach the town of Qellomayo where we will enjoy a delicious lunch. After the break we will do a 3-hour walk. Crossing farms, rivers, waterfalls until reaching the town of Santa Teresa, where they will have dinner and spend the second night.

In Santa Teresa you will find the thermal baths of Cocalmayo, which have relaxing crystalline thermal waters, each with its own temperature. The sound of the river and the stars at night make it a perfect setting. The visit to the thermal baths is optional and is not included.

DAY 3 : Santa Teresa – Hydroelectric – Aguas Calientes

After breakfast, passengers who booked in advance will enjoy the zipline or Zipline this activity lasts approximately two hours, the rest of the group will continue until reaching the hydroelectric, where the entire group will meet. After a break we will continue until we reach the town of Aguas Calientes or Machu Picchu town. The group will go to their lodging. At night we all meet in a restaurant to have dinner and have a briefing about the trek to Machu Picchu the next day.
Note – Those who prefer not to walk from the Hydroelectric to Aguas Calientes can take the train and experience the 40-minute ride “the price is not included”.

DAY 4: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco

Finally, on the last day of our tour we will get up very early, we will have breakfast and then we will prepare to go to Machu Picchu, those who want to walk up to the archaeological center can do it for an approximate time of 2 hours or they can go up by bus for half an hour, the guide will be waiting for the group at the top. We will have a guided time for about two and a half hours.
At the end of the tour we will return to Aguas Calientes, those who have a train ticket will return by train and those who will return by car have to return to the hydroelectric plant to take their respective transportation that will take them to the city of Cusco, where our activity ends.
