Michael Arroyo Sotomayor is a tourism leader and travel enthusiast, dedicated to designing unique experiences in Cusco, the Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu. Combining his academic training in Economics with a solid professional background, Michael established Machupicchu Exploration to offer travelers personalized, sustainable, and world-class tours
As CEO of Machupicchu Exploration, Michael leads a passionate team of local guides and travel experts, dedicated to creating seamless, safe, and unforgettable experiences in Peru. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking through the Andes, discovering hidden destinations, and sharing meaningful adventures with family and friends.
Training & Expertise
Over 8 years of experience in the tourism industry, beginning as a hotel receptionist in 2017 and later advancing to operations management, gaining first-hand knowledge of logistics, guest services, and travel package sales.
Professional background in the planning and development of tourism infrastructure projects, including participation in the investment project for the Choquequirao cable cars.
Academic foundation as a Bachelor in Economics, with expected graduation as a professional economist, bringing strategic, financial, and analytical skills into the tourism sector.
Multilingual proficiency in English, Spanish, and Portuguese (in progress), enhancing communication and service for international travelers.
Committed to sustainable and community-based tourism, ensuring authentic cultural experiences while preserving heritage and the environment.
