Where is Machu Picchu Exploration located?

We are based in Cusco, Peru, and specialize in tours to Machu Picchu, the Sacred Valley, and the Inca Trail. Our team provides personalized and professional travel services.

What types of tours do you offer?

We offer a wide range of tours including full-day Machu Picchu tours, multi-day treks, Sacred Valley tours, cultural experiences, and adventure trekking. We also provide private guides and customizable itineraries.

How do I book a tour?

You can book directly through our website using our secure booking form, or contact us via email or WhatsApp for personalized assistance.

What should I bring on a tour?

Essentials include: comfortable hiking shoes or sneakers, light layers for varying temperatures, a rain jacket or poncho (mountain weather can change fast), sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen), a camera or smartphone, and a water bottle with small snacks.

Are tours suitable for children or elderly travelers?

Many of our tours are family-friendly. For multi-day treks, we recommend evaluating fitness levels and mobility. Our guides will provide advice on suitable tours.

How physically demanding are the tours?

Each tour lists its difficulty level. As a general guide: short Inca Trail and day hikes are moderate, around 7 hours; multi-day treks are moderate to challenging and suitable for those in good health. Private guides can adjust the pace to your needs.

Do I need tickets to enter Machu Picchu?

Yes, all visitors need a Machu Picchu entrance ticket, which we include in most of our tours. For special routes like Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, tickets are optional and subject to availability.

Are Inca Trail permits included?

Yes, our Short and Classic Inca Trail packages include all required permits. Booking early is recommended, as permits sell out quickly.

 Verified An Unforgettable Trek, Flawlessly Organized
From start to finish, our experience with Machu Picchu Center was extremely professional. Immediately after booking, we received a detailed itinerary and all the e-tickets we would need, and the team was always available by email to answer questions as we prepared for our arrival in Cusco. The entire experience was incredibly well organized. From the pick-up and transfers to guidance about equipment and what we would need for the trek, everything was taken care of, allowing us simply to enjoy the experience. A very special mention goes to our wonderful guide, Jimmy, who met us at the train station and stayed with us throughout the day. He was extremely knowledgeable, attentive and, above all, incredibly supportive — especially during the more challenging moments of the climb. His encouragement and help made a real difference. The trek itself is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful experiences in the world, and having such a professional and caring team made it even more memorable. The only area that could perhaps be improved was the briefing the evening before the trek, which we found a little unclear. However, once the day began, everything ran flawlessly. A truly unforgettable experience, beautifully organized by an excellent team. Highly recommended!

 Verified Lifelong adventure!
I lead a group from Los Angeles and brought along 16 kids ages 15- 21. As I prepared the trip, one of my biggest concerns was who would the tour guide would be like. I have to say that the success of my trip was in part due to Mr. Jimmy. He was knowledgeable, passionate and and an overall great human being. Mr. Jimmy understood my group’s concerns and acted patiently and supportive, specifically during an emergency situation when one of my students got dangerously ill before getting to Puno. His assistant and coordination with ambulance, hospital and hotel, allowed me to focus on my student. I will be forever grateful for his support and encouragement. In short, if you’re planning on going to Peru anytime soon or in the future, make sure to go with Mr. Jimmy.
