Itinerary
Day 1: Chinchero, Moray, Salt Mines & Ollantaytambo
- Our adventure to the Sacred Valley starts with the pickup from your Accommodation
- We will first drive to highest area of the Sacred Valley and visit Chinchero, An small town famous for its spectacular snows mountain views, the traditional textile weaving centers and the well-preserved archeological site and one of the oldest church in cusco since the XVI centuries.
- then will continue to the amazing circular Inca Terraces of MORAY, Unique among the Inca sites in the Sacred Valley area, this was working as agricultural laboratory where the Incas could determine the optimal growing conditions for different crops.
- Visit the famous SALT MINES of MARAS, where locals, since pre-Inca times, have been obtaining Salt by evaporating warm salty water from a local subterranean stream.
- After visiting these unique sites we will stop at a local restaurant for a deserved lunch (Lunch is at extra cost) optional.
- Finally, we will drive to Ollantaytambo (well known as a living museum due to old houses still inhabited by locals families) explore the fascinating megalithic ruins,
- At the end of the tour, we can drop you off at your Hotel or Train station in Ollantaytambo *** (in case your trip plans continue to Machupicchu) OR return to Cusco
