Itinerary
Day 1: Full Day Sacred Valley Experience
Our adventure begins with pick-up from your hotel in Cusco or the Sacred Valley, and we drive to visit the amazing circular Inca terraces of Moray – unique among the Inca sites of the Sacred Valley, believed to have been an elaborate agricultural laboratory used to test crops under different microclimates.
We continue to the famous Salt Mines of Maras, where locals have obtained salt from a warm, salty spring by evaporation in thousands of terraced pools since pre-Inca times.
At the end of the day we explore Ollantaytambo, known as a living museum for its old houses still inhabited by local families, and visit its fascinating megalithic ruins, including the Sun Temple and its many terraces.
From Ollantaytambo we board the train to Machu Picchu Town, also known as Aguas Calientes for its natural hot springs, where you will spend the night ahead of your Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu day.
Day 2: Machu Picchu & Huayna Picchu Guided Exploration
- The next day, before sunrise, your guide meets you at your hotel to take the bus, hop aboard your bus and take the short 25 min. journey up the hillside to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed site of Machu Picchu.
- Once there, head inside along with your Guide to explore the Inka Citadel of Machu Picchu on foot and enjoy a complete guided tour of this amazing site (Guided Tour is about 3 Hours approx)
- If you are interested in hiking, we highly recommend completing your adventure with a Hike to the famous HUAYNAPICCHU MOUNTAIN (2.5 – Hour round trip)– Tickets are limited so need to confirm in advance.
- If you are interested in hiking, you can add the Sun Gate Hike to your Guided Tour (2- Hour round trip gentle hike) OR the Inka Bridge Hike (1-Hour round-trip hike)
