Tour Overview
Machu Picchu & Huayna Picchu 2 Days / 1 Night – Private Tour
A Unique Two-Day Adventure in Machu Picchu
This experience is designed for travelers who want to explore Machu Picchu at a relaxed pace while enjoying the unforgettable adventure of climbing Huayna Picchu Mountain.
Over two days, you will discover the history and architecture of the Inca citadel, spend one night in Aguas Calientes, and return the following day for an exciting mountain hike with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
Huayna Picchu has limited daily access, with approximately 400 spaces available per day. Advance reservations are strongly recommended, as availability depends on the official ticket allocation.
Day 1: Explore Machu Picchu at a Relaxed Pace
Your adventure can begin in Cusco or the Sacred Valley, depending on your accommodation. We recommend departing in the morning to enjoy the scenic train journey to Aguas Calientes and visit Machu Picchu in the afternoon.
An afternoon visit may help you avoid some of the busiest periods, depending on visitor numbers and your assigned entrance time. With a professional guide, you will discover the fascinating history, architecture, and cultural significance of this extraordinary Inca city.
We recommend allowing approximately three to four hours for your visit, depending on your assigned circuit, entrance ticket, and current visitor regulations. Our goal is to help you enjoy the experience without unnecessary rushing.
After exploring Machu Picchu, return to Aguas Calientes for an overnight stay. Enjoy a relaxing evening and prepare for the next day’s adventure.
Day 2: Huayna Picchu Mountain Adventure
After a restful night and breakfast, get ready for the highlight of your journey: the climb to Huayna Picchu Mountain.
Return to the Machu Picchu area according to your confirmed entrance time and begin your hike along the mountain’s steep trails and ancient stone steps. Along the way, enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and the iconic Inca citadel below.
Allow approximately two to three hours for the round-trip hike, depending on your pace, trail conditions, and any official access restrictions. The climb requires a reasonable level of fitness and is best suited to travelers who feel comfortable on steep, uneven terrain.
After completing your adventure, return to Aguas Calientes and board your scheduled train to Ollantaytambo, followed by your transfer to Cusco or your selected destination in the Sacred Valley.
