Itinerary
Day 1: Humantay Lake Hike
We pick you up from your hotel between 6:30 and 7:00 AM. The day’s adventure starts with a 4-hour drive from Cusco to the trailhead town of Soraypampa, located at 3,800 masl. From this point we hike uphill for 2 hours until reaching Humantay Lake (4,200 masl), located at the base of the mountain of the same name.
The panoramic views along the way are unique – if the sky is clear, you will see the impressive snow-capped Salkantay and Humantay mountains. Once we arrive at the viewpoint, you will see the amazing crystal-clear water reflecting the sky, and have the chance to observe native birds and beautiful flowers.
After your free time, we return to the trailhead (about 1 hour descending), where lunch is included. After lunch, we return to Cusco, arriving by 6:30 PM.
