Your journey begins with an early pickup in Cusco and a scenic drive through traditional Andean villages, valleys, and rivers. Upon arrival, a short and gentle walk (40 minutes approx.) will take you to the viewpoint, where the stunning landscapes of Palccoyo and the Red Valley open before your eyes.

Along the way, you’ll meet local communities, see alpacas grazing freely, and admire ancient rock formations shaped by time. Our expert local guide will share fascinating insights into Inca history, Andean traditions, and the geology that formed these multicolored wonders.

Hotel Pickup

We will pick you up directly from your hotel in Cusco. From here, we begin a scenic 3.5-hour drive through the Andes to the trailhead located at 3,800 m.a.s.l. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking landscapes, picturesque valleys, and views of snow-capped peaks.

10:30 AM :

Arrival at the Trailhead & Start of the Hike

Once we reach Palccoyo, we start an easy 30–40 minute walk to the main viewpoint of the Tres Rainbow Mountains. This hike is considered gentle and is perfect for travelers looking to enjoy the high Andes without strenuous trekking.

11:15 AM :

Viewpoint of the Tres Rainbows

From the top, admire the stunning panorama of the colorful Palccoyo mountains and surrounding valleys. Take your time to explore, relax, and capture amazing photos of the painted hills.

Optional :

Stone Forest Hike

For adventurous travelers, there is the option to hike an extra 10 minutes to the Stone Forest, a natural formation of unique rock spires. From here, you will also enjoy spectacular views of the Ausangate Mountain and all three Rainbow Mountains.

12:30 PM :

Descent & Lunch

After exploring, we descend back to the trailhead. A delicious boxed or local lunch will be provided to recharge and enjoy the Andean atmosphere.

01:30 PM :

Return to Cusco

We begin our drive back, arriving in Cusco around 5:00 PM, dropping you off at your hotel.
